Gene Van Dyke, Kammie's Surf Shop, Circa 80s. Fred's brother, who worked with Karen Gallagher at the shop. This was the scene when picking up your slide film. Drop it off one day, hopefully, pick it up the next day. Kodak would have a delivery truck run film in and out of the North Shore every day for processing in town. If you were lucky, your film wouldn't get mixed up with someone else's film. But it happened. The whole process was so delicate, from shooting the right exposure, manual focusing, then the lab. Sometimes they would send you replacement film when they had an accident in the lab and all your shots were ruined during processing! Always had your fingers crossed that your precious roll of Pipe water shots would come back, and then that you exposed and focused properly.
