Kim Whanki’s artistic practice could be described as poetry expressed through the act of painting. This includes lyricism, experimentation, and musicality: all important aspects of his work. He saw art as something that simply existed, as natural as mountains, as plum trees, or anything tangible. And because art surrounded him so naturally, Kim Whanki was able to make a cosmology out of it, developing his own original language, which would be declined through several mediums, including painting, drawing, writing, and poetry.
