For #InternationalDayoftheGirl, we celebrated with the kids of @alon.and.araw and the San Isidro Integrated School in Cabangan, Zambales. As much as I tried to “inspire” them by telling them my story, I think they ended up teaching me more about what it means to be an empowered and confident child. 🥹 The people behind @alon.and.araw have done such an amazing job empowering these kids — teaching them how to surf and play football, while at the same time giving them opportunities to prove themselves and advocate for the environment. The sense of community and responsibility is so strong that I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to have the same program across the country. 🤎 What an inspiring and educational day. Safe to say we’ll be back in Zambales in no time. 🫶🏽🤎
