Back on stage for my first gig of 2022! It felt real nice going from mom mode to host mode for a change after a long while. I love my kids to death but I also really love my job. I’ve missed the butterflies in my tummy before I step up on stage and that adrenaline rush once I speak into the mic. The past 2 days may have been early call times, long hours of shoot, rehearsals and standbys before the actual event. Was I dead beat? Yes. Will I do it all over again? Heck yes. I’m also mindful of the fact that I can only do this because I’ve a strong support system and a village backing me up. Also the kids are a little older and not fully dependent on me. Which brings me back to the same question: can I have it all? Be a present mom and still have a career. And in this moment, I feel like I can! Again, just not at the same time. So for those of you who feel like you’re stuck in the extreme of either motherhood or your career, and if you have the luxury of choice, then choose. I find that more effective than trying to juggle both or the illusion of a balancing act. Make a conscious choice to do either one every single day.
