"Same" - everyone still recovering from the holidays. One stunning animal that can be spotted in northern states during the winter is the snowy owl. These brilliant birds breed in the Arctic but often travel to more southern latitudes in winter in search of food. Snowy owls are often seen in salt marshes or open fields because these habitats are most like their native tundra. Keep an eye out for these magnificent raptors and remember these wildlife viewing tips! 🦉Use a zoom lens, binoculars, or a spotting scope to give wildlife plenty of space. Your presence should not disturb the animal's normal behaviors. If it does, you're too close! 🦉Never feed wildlife. Feeding wildlife is dangerous for wildlife and people. 🦉If you see sick or injured wildlife, reach out to your local wildlife rehabilitator. Snowy owl by Kyle Chelius/USFWS
