Okay, I listened to it about 10 times if I am being honest. My friend Taylor (who has a great book review IG account —> @taylors_tea_and_books) gave me the recommendation, and though the narrator at first drove me a bit nuts, I was able to eventually get into the book, and I ended up really loving it. To sum it up briefly, it’s about a case worker for orphanages that house magical kids. These kids have magical powers, or are like.. gnomes or have some other fantastical feature to them, and the book takes us along the main characters journey to an especially difficult case where the kids aren’t like any other kids he has ever investigated, and we get to know the head of the orphanage, and all the kids, and theres a great theme of feeling ‘other’ and experiencing discrimination and how wrong it is to be treated poorly just because you aren’t like other people, or you look weird etc. This book feels like the warm hug of a parent after a hard day. Though I wouldn’t really know how that feels I suppose lol. I’ve been falling asleep listening to it every night now, and it makes me feel so comforted and warm. And I love it. It’s SO sweet and cute and lovely. Highly recommend. You can order the book online at Barnes & Noble or Amazon, Listen to it on Audible or Libby, or stop by your local book store and see if they have it! And if they don’t, maybe they can order it for you :) Rating: 10/10
