Detail of “Momentary Lapse” that will be on view tomorrow, May 7th at the Japanese Cultural Community Center @jaccc_la 🎈 The Japanese American Cultural Community Center - JACCC is excited to announce the upcoming exhibition Doing Our Own Thing, curated by Sow & Tailor @sowandtailor. The artists featured are invited to retrace their personal and generational histories in Los Angeles and the profound effects the city has had on their artistic production. Each artist is adventurous and singular in medium and form. Yet, the works of each artist vibrate and connect together like the overlapping communities and endless streets of Los Angeles. Artists include: Jenny Hata Blumenfield, Miranda Byk, Nehemiah Cisneros, Olive Diamond, Aryo Toh Djojo, Henry Fey, Enio Hernandez, Braden Hollis, Maddy Inez Leeser, Wendy Park, Javier Ramirez, Esteban Ramón Pérez, Gabriella Sanchez, Sula Bermúdez Silverman, Devin Troy Strother, 011668. The exhibition will have its opening reception May 7th, 12 - 4pm in the George J. Doizaki Gallery.
