Star struck: I respect any meal that insists your photos will do no justice to the flavour or the execution, and @auberge.grandmaison was this exactly. Everything was simultaneously understated and overwhelmingly flavourful. We were worried it’s Michelin star would entail fine portions; we were wrong, and even if we’d been right the bread was in constant supply. The staff were warm and generous, the wine interesting without being INTERESTING and the desserts (multiple) made a strong case for dessert to this vehemently salty-toothed girl. Helped that we’d cycled 40 miles without lunch, of course.
