#REPOST @yallaroza “Thinking about those of us who feel unworthy of good things. unworthy of loving relationships, of joy and laughter, community and chosen family, intimacy and pleasure, soul-nourishing food and yes, even that beautiful coat you’ve been wanting for so long. thinking of all those who grew up learning that “people like us” don’t get good things. that “people like us” will struggle and hustle for basic things – like respect, a room of our own, and breathe. and so – we only dreamed so far. because “people like us” only go so far. or those of us who learned not to want good things, because they’ll inevitably be taken away. so, we stopped wanting. stopped asking. stopped believing that the good things were here to stay. and instead, learned to live in the waiting. we learn to wait for the loss, and disappointment, and hurt. we learned to grieve before the loss. we learned to do what felt less scary. And so - I offer this gentle reminder that you are worthy of good things. I offer an invitation to sometimes, believe. to sometimes, send that colonial capitalist narrative into another room, in another universe. to give yourself permission to want good things. to dream. to imagine. to receive. to go ahead and gift yourself the good. because you are deserving, beloved. Tag a friend who reminds you of your worthiness. ❤️ “
