Globe Mallow (_Sphaeralcea angustifolia_) are a distinct orange to pinkish bloom on scraggly stalks between three and five feet high. Their small leaves generally have three lobes but can vary in shape, from rounded to pointed. The stems are woody and have star-like hairs. Typically, you’ll see them around the visitor center and in the desert brush as you approach the dunefield. The plant can be used as a tea for bronchitis and as a poultice to reduce swelling from injuries. #WildflowerWednesday Image Description: two orange blooms surrounded by green leaves, with an ant crawling onto one of the flower’s petals
