Ian... my beautiful friend. it’s hard to find the words to express how much I loved you, words feel almost bastardizing because your essence was omnipresent and so genuine that I sometimes doubted my own... i believed sincerely that the both of us would ride our wave to the top together and breathe sighs of relief coupled with victorious laughter when we made our “hits” as we always talked about... working on records with you was inspiring, I felt pure security and understanding in our collaborations. you always humbled me and put my fears at peace with your words and serene energy... we were supposed to be in the studio today working, vehemently as you did. I will always hold your memory dear, you put me on so much game... taught me the importance of keeping it real with others and above all with yourself. you never lied to me, never fucking sugar coated how you felt about anything (especially musically) you put your criticisms to me in the most gentle and poetic ways, thank you for that. In honoring your memory I will strive to be the same way myself. guns and synths forever. x
