Helen Marten: Third Moment Profile The Almost Horse a special limited edition booklet made to accompany Marten’s latest body of work, currently on view at the Davies Street gallery. The booklet, designed and written by Marten, brings together the beautifully composed fictional tale of The Almost Horse, told across 26 paintings in the exhibition. Its narrative tells the story of a generative friendship between two strangers and their horse, with each chapter beginning with the following consecutive letter of the alphabet: A-Z. An accompanying essay by Marten also explores in-depth the many concepts interwoven in the making of the work, from the inbuilt deception in the construction of meaning, to ‘the moment profile’, a mathematical expression for interpreting the point at which empirical material fails. 🔗 Tap the link in bio to get a copy.
