When @evan_t_wesley asked “literally no pressure but would you accept this award,” I was stunned because a) HOW COULD I EVER NOT ACCEPT, b) I am not worthy of this and c) this is the greatest honor thank you SO much. I’ll be there with gratitude in my heart.
Ever since I was a little girl, I hoped I’d be able to grow up and help people. My first dream was to be a doctor, then a lawyer and...well I’m an entertainer BUT one of the many beautiful things about what I do is the platform I’ve been given to do just that.
As an adult I’ve struggled to find what I’m most passionate about. What my “purpose” is. It turns out that it is, and always has been, what I hoped as a kid. I have always cared (sometimes too deeply tbh) about literally everything: the people around me, rescue dogs, kids...really anyone/anything that’s hurting, alone, scared and in need of someone to help and give them a second chance; something I was given by my sister when I was a teenager.
Making a difference in just one life may seem small to some, but to me it means everything. It begins a chain reaction. Making a difference doesn’t always have to be some huge life altering act; you can make a difference just by going out of your way to help if you see it’s needed or being there for someone or any being that needs support even if it’s inconvenient for you at the time. Making a difference can be as “big” as changing the world or as “small” as bringing comfort and hope when one really needs it.
I feel so lucky, grateful and, truthfully, undeserving of all the wonderful people, things, and opportunities I have in life, but all of those wonderful things lead me to pursuing all that I can and want to fight for🫶 Thank you @legacyyouthleadership!!!!!!
