Today we collectively UNFURL with a day into night concert in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Bask in the after glow of SOFT CENTRE’s ecstatic four day surge of art and sound inside the Calyx, a remarkable open-air venue and home to the largest plant wall in the Southern Hemisphere. Featuring enchanted live sets by Egyptian IDM producer ABADIR and enigmatic Afro futurist Canberra based producer VOLTA HYMN, mutant variations of dub, musique concrete and post-punk via Mx-Ai and YL Hooi, an explorative DJ set from multi-disciplinary artist and community facilitator akka, and a commissioned collaboration between Budawang sound artist e fishpool, Sam Miers and viola virtuoso Mara Schwerdtfeger. UNFURL worldbuilder Eek also presents a two screen installation titled ‘6 Across, 6 Down’. Finally we are honoured to host a special hybrid DJ/live performance by pioneering Aymara composer Chuquimamani-Condori (Elysia Crampton Chuquima). This program was curated by the awe-inspiring Krishtie Mofazzal, who first volunteered at SOFT CENTRE back in 2017.
