When the photographer convinces you to make a whole tour around them, and they flake 😮‍💨 and 4/5 photographers don’t work out either, losing $4,000/$5,500. In all my years of modeling, this has never happened • First client - I don’t even know why I booked the first client. I remember reference checking him like crazy, and when I reviewed his portfolio again the day of the shoot, I saw that they had no model references available for me to double check with and the pictures look super outdated (definitely not taken within the last year). Red/yellow flags = no shoot. My basic requirements are model references available WITHOUT asking for them, and a current portfolio. • Second client, today’s client, was a long-standing photographer client of mine who hired me on multiple occasions in the past, but decided to stand me up and block me without a heads up. He even had the blls to reconfirm the shoot before I flew out, and blocked me after I landed. • Third and fourth client both cancelled, third client with no notice, just flaked and never responded, and fourth client THANKFULLY got back to me and let me know he had unexpected financial issues come up two weeks prior (I appreciate at least a heads up). • THANK GOD my fifth client has booked a peerspace already, reconfirmed, has a legitimate up-to-date portfolio with model references available again for me to double check with.
