How do you take care of your family? In 1936, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) hired eight million men and women across the country to build America’s infrastructure. We can thank the hard-working individuals from the WPA for building the beautiful adobe visitor center. The men in the WPA built the adobe visitor center authentically, creating each brick from mud and laying them down by hand. These men lived in camps, often far away from their families.
