coach carrie 🕊️🕊️ oh how i loved you coach c and always will. love doesn’t even put into words how i felt for you. you loved more than anyone i will ever know. every stranger, every player, you were so intentional in everything you did. you loved, and loved. i was just holding your hand on friday and i never thought this day would actually come. you truly are a walking miracle. i have never felt so loved & poured into by someone not blood in my life. you gave me a new love for the sport & life lessons i will keep forever. i had never once played for a coach who believed in me & loved me like you did. i’d do anything to go back & relive it all. carrie showed that you never truly know what someone is going through. you would never of known she had stage 4 cancer, & was fighting for her life everyday. we saw the background of it, but others had no idea. she was at every practice & game she could be. she whispered when she lost her voice, sat in a chair till the moment we would stand for a team picture, sat when she couldn’t stand, had iv’s in the car on the way to tournaments, used a microphone when she couldn’t talk, & would leave practice to go to chemo. even when she couldn’t be present she had practice plans written up each time and watched our games live. going through this season without you there most of the time was one of the hardest, but you had prepared. you knew & believed in us to bring home that trophy more than anything. & you proved it to us by teaching us everything we needed to know for that exact moment. i’m so happy we could fulfill your goal once again. while you won & had countless awards that will be in your name forever, i am so happy to have known & been loved by the special character of carrie yerty. when i sit here the awards mean nothing to actually knowing and being loved by you. you treated us all as your own, & in such a special way. it goes from little things such as being 15 minutes early, never leaving anything on the locker room floor, & to never ever buy junk food on a trip. to countless big life lessons on how to love others, & how to give everything in your life to the heavenly father. continued in comments:
