25 Oh what a joy it is to celebrate one more year of life.... Papi sat down with me on Tuesday as I was stressed about work stuff and instead of asking me about it all he said was “ay mi hija ya va a cumplir la peseta.. como que vas a cumplir ya?” (pls translate it, it’s so cute hehe) I wish you could hear his tone of voice... the shock of noticing my birthday was coming up... In my family, celebrating everything and anything is so important because the Lord gave us a life worth celebrating every moment.. big and small... good and ugly... specially another year where you have breath in your lungs.. where little things that can feel like a lot don’t feel as big anymore because you choose to celebrate them instead.. So here’s to slowing down enough to journal... here’s to dancing more around the kitchen because I deserve little joys here and there.. to more dinner parties because sharing meals with my people makes my heart explode.. to moving my body more because I can... to feeling my feelings a little more each day.. to making GUUD coffee because I NEED it.. to grocery shopping more and eating out less (lol)... to doing hard things like cooking more (lololol)... to failing and getting my ass right back up.. here’s to doing it even when I’m scared... to loving a little deeper..
