Today is about second chances, about spreading awareness about mental health for all, and about creating spaces for those who might feel like they’re at their end - to open up and keep going, to prevent the next heartbreaking loss from happening, and to let anyone who is struggling know that they are never alone in their journey. This month is #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth, but every day of the year is a good day to stand for mental health, share mental health resources, take the first or next steps in your journey, help someone with theirs, and end the stigma. I, like many of you, struggled for years with depression, self-criticism, and perfectionism. I hoped medications would help, but ultimately, after multiple different types, they did not.
