In this era of market saturation, where everyone and their dog has a fashion line, it is refreshing to see someone going the other way and putting a stop to something. Raf Simons is accomplished enough to be able to go against the goals of an industry where designers are pushed to expand until their vision becomes meaningless. Simons's work will be remembered as a special moment in time, like all art that is part of something bigger. I'm glad the label will never become a producer of perfumes and generic licensed products like many of the great designers whose labels carried on well after the creativity was gone.
