My emotional and formula based transition to brunette 👀😂
Here’s my formula and process!
First I did an all over @redken gloss using 6n + 6nch + 7nch without any gold and it SHOWED, so then I warmed it up a week later with 6n + 6cb + 6nch and that did the trick. To be honest, I knew I wanted to experiment with the new chocolate series from them but I had no intention of committing long term and kind of missed being blonde. Once it faded out as it should have coming from being blonde, I changed my mind and committed. Life lesson? Change is scary. Uncomfortable. Uncertain. You don’t always feel like yourself at first. Maybe some.. regret?
I needed it to be more.. rich and expensive looking, so I took the permanent plunge and used redken color gel 5n + 5nw + 6n on my roots, gradually brushing it down, emulsified in the shower then all over glossed with @redken shades 6n + 6nb + 7nb and I’m finally happy and fell in love and plan to keep it long term 🤍☺️
PSA for anyone/blondes who are going darker:
It is a PROCESS. It’s not a one time color job. Yes, it will fade at first and if I were a client I probably would have been on my stylist about the fading and rich color vision I had in my mind. Give it 2-3 services until it will start to stick. We have to build up the protein and integrity again so the color has something to hold onto.
It took me coloring my hair 3-4 times in one month to get this look! 🙏🏼 As instant as we want color trends to be, they do take time sometimes!
