The Clamshell Nebula (SH2-119) is a large emission Nebula in the Constallation Cygnus. It is located approximately 2000 light years from earth adjacent to the North America Nebula. The bright star is 68 Cygni, and is around magnitude 5 and is one of the stars responsible for ionizing the surrounding gas.
Technical Details:
Exposure: ~10hrs of exposures from my Bortle 4/5 backyard
Telescope: Samyang 135mm f/2 lens at f/2.8
Imaging Camera: ZWO ASI294MC Pro
Guiding: ZWO 30mm f4 guide scope with ASI120MM camera
Filter: IDAS NBZ dual narrowband
Mount: Skywatcher EQM35-Pro
Calibration: Darks, Flats and Bias.
Hardware Control: ASIAIR Air, Pegasus Powerbox Micro
Processing: The selected images were pre-processed and processed using Pixinsight.
