In the 1900s, there were five million elephants in Africa. Today, there are 450,000—because of poaching. ⁠ ⁠ Elephants need safe habitat in order to thrive. That’s why IFAW teamed up with @africanparksnetwork and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife to relocate over 250 elephants from areas where they were at risk to the safety of Kasungu National Park. Our teams took great care to move elephant families together, so that they can stay united as a group. ⁠ ⁠ Every individual elephant matters to the conservation of this iconic species.
