استقبلت بالمجلس النيابي ظهر اليوم السفيرة الاميركية في لبنان دوروثي شيا و عرضت معها لاهمية تنفيذ الاتفاق مع صندوق النقد الدولي وضرورة اقرار القوانين الاصلاحية، كما تطرق الحديث لموضوع ترسيم الحدود البحرية وكيفية متابعة الموضوع بشكل متواصل بعد زيارة الوسيط الاميركي اموس هوكشتين الأخيرة لما في ذلك من مصلحة للبنان للخروج من ازمته الراهنة . وتخلل النقاش بحث بوجوب المضي قدماً بوضع خطة تعافي مالية واقتصادية الى جانب مواضيع اخرى مطروحة على الساحة اللبنانية والدولية. I welcomed HE Dorothy Shea, US Ambassador to Lebanon at the Parliament today, where we discussed the importance of implementing the IMF’s agreement as well as the necessity of fast tracking parliamentary changes and the approval of new reform laws. The agenda also included discussions on the demarcation of the maritime border and how to consistently secure its surveillance and autonomy, a critical factor for the peace and security of Lebanon, that arose following the recent visit of the American mediator, Amos Hochstein. Furthermore, we reiterated the importance of immediately developing a national financial and economic recovery plan, in addition to discussing Lebanon’s struggles on a national and international level. @usembassybeirut #lebanon
