Performing w/ @allisonrussellmusic at @kexp on #juneteenth AND then going directly to @woodlandparkzoo in #Seattle to open for w/ @ironandwinetour + @andrewbirdmusic was one of those days where I couldn’t tell if my feet were on the ground....just a slow glow hovering, soft mist in my eyes... looking off the stage at the familiar sights of PNW home....steeping cedars catching the notes we played out past the crowd as Allison led us through songs of resilience, hope, love, the power to change.... I am humbled by these experiences and wishing I could somehow capture the full emotion to share but for now, there’s this.... these words behind tiny plastic screens... and a swelling heart in my chest.
