I have been in a bit of a reading rut. I have been reading a lot but most things have just been okay. Well, UNLIKELY ANIMALS by Annie Hartnett changed that. This was the first book in a long time that I found myself staring at throughout the day, sad that I had to be apart from it.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ If you know me, you know I love a dysfunctional family. Well, this book takes that and adds the ghost of naturalist, Ernest Harold Baynes. I loved the fictional world Hartnett created as well as getting to learn about Baynes, a man I had never heard of before. (I have to admit that this book had me going down some internet rabbit holes.). Hartnett has created a wonderful and so relatably flawed cast of characters.
