This natural wooden seating group is newly restored to its former glory, and has gotten the place of honor - overlooking one of the major waterways to Stockholm. The lady who owned Villa Solbacka before us, told us that her grandmother - was sitting on this exact location a summer night only a few years after the big house was built. She was looking in awe at a big fleet of anchored French warships. The story goes, the ships were too many to count, and more seemed to gather as the evening turned to night. The girl went to bed, but returned first thing in the morning - only to find all the ships gone. It was the 3rd of August 1914 and France entered the World War I that very day.
