We spent September long weekend on an island that we unofficially named “Skinner’s Kitchen”. I like to think it’s because we had delicious gourmet meals all weekend but that’s contrary to the Simpson’s episode (😂) and it’s actually because we experienced the most incredible northern lights on Saturday and Sunday night✨
It’s also not a surprise that almost every photo with a person has a @thermarest Honcho Poncho in it. September is my favourite month to camp because the days feel like summer and the nights feel like fall, which means layering up...insulated poncho style.
For my sleep system, I slept in my 0C Parsec bag strapped to my NeoAir sleeping pad. If your bag doesn’t have sleeping bag connectors, they’re the greatest yet one of the simplest inventions as they stop you from slipping off and waking up with a hip on the ground🙋🏼♀️ We also discovered the way to maximum sleeping comfort this weekend - wearing the Honcho Poncho on your upper body and keeping your lower body in your sleeping bag (see the video I included). You’re like a warm loosely wrapped burrito, so it’s great for people aren’t super keen on being wrapped in a mummy bag🌮
Thanks to @thermarest for sponsoring this trip #thermaresting #restbetterplaybetter #sleepingrad #northernlights #auroraborealis #astrophotography #ig_astrophotography #longexposure
