I would’ve never imagined the day would come when I would have the opportunity to plan my own baby shower. I’ve had the pleasure of planning/designing for close to a 1,000 baby-related events for the past 6 years. I was fortunate to have many returning clients and have had the honor to be a part of their wedding and their children’s birthdays. Most of the time I get asked, “when will you have your own?” It’s not that I didn’t want to have children of my own, it just wasn’t as easy. ⠀ Working multiple events a week, I felt like I had to put my life on pause, and wondered if I was physically capable of having a healthy pregnancy. After over a year of trying, Elliot and I told each other that it would be okay if it was just the two of us moving forward. If I think about it now, it was just us trying to stay positive for each other. But miraculously, as soon as @madeandcodesigns decided to slow down on events, we got pregnant. And to keep this high risk pregnancy successful, we had to make many changes and take a break from all events. ⠀ No words can express the love that I feel for my husband and how supportive he is through this pregnancy. Going out at random hours to pick up pizza, (it must be plump) strawberries, apples, cheetos, and oreos. No comments and judgement when I purchased 5 types of pregnancy pillows, but all rejected, usually thrown off the bed in the middle of the night, sort of forming a pregnancy pillow graveyard. Waking up multiple times a night with me due to my snoring and scratching, multiple bathroom visits, and finding the neglected wrist brace next to his face. I remind him that this is good sleep compared to what is to come when she arrives. Doing the dishes everyday after work, and bringing me a cup of water every night so that I don’t ask him when he’s already in bed (smart). He’s already head-over-heels for this baby girl, and I just know he’s going to be the most amazing dad. I told him not to forget about me. #familyofthree #notreadybutready
