TLC for GOOD AMERICAN • CraZySeXyGoOd • Everything I do as an adult is to make lil Sarah proud. If you’ve known me the past 30 years, I don’t even have to explain myself here... but imma get all deep anyways I remember the very moment I saw the Baby, Baby, Baby video pop up on tv back in 1992. Instantly I latched onto TLC. I was in awe of their beauty, style, sound, lyrics, and energy. Once I had the “Ooooooohhh... on the TLC tip” cassette tape in my hands, I had my mom take me to the beauty store to buy this gold pacifier jewelry set, I rocked Hi Tec boots and a cross color vest... you couldn’t tell me I didn’t look like T-Boz 🙈 TLC WAS EVERYTHING!! With each album drop thru the years my love for them grew deeper. I knew every lyric, outfit, hair style, interview. (I know u remember my bedroom walls!) In any trio friend group, I was Left-Eye. I studied T-Boz’s poetry book Thoughts as if it was a SAT prep. In 1994 I went to Wal Mart trying to find oversized Creep pajamas, as if they could just be “purchased”. In 1999, I cried when the Fanmail concert I had tix to got canceled. But I knew deep down... one day I’d have a memory with them. TLC is rooted in my veins, they have been a main creative influence for me since I was 10 and that has never faded. They have been with me every step of my life. This was MAJOR. A PINNACLE 360 MOMENT that I will forever be grateful for. How do you go from your entire life’s style being influenced by the very women you end up styling?!! Crazy!
