We’re still trying to process what we witnessed at Waimea Bay yesterday, so we asked B.W.G.O.A.T Shane Dorian his thoughts on what everyone is calling the “Best Eddie Aikau Ever”: “This wave I shared with Peter Mel in the afternoon pretty much sums up what the Eddie means to me. It’s about respecting the legends who came before you and respecting the wave and its history and experiencing this spectacle of nature with your peers and heroes. I’ve been surfing big waves with Pete since we were kids and to still be doing it together after all these decades later is super special. Not to mention this was the BEST day I’ve ever seen at Waimea.
