Atlanta Lately ______ Went on a photo walk with the beautiful talented people of @captura.atl and had the chance to document an immigrant populated area around Buford Highway. We were able to talk to some folks and workers there about the lack of public transportation access, paving of sidewalks, and the difficulties overall they face when going to work. While we were conversing with one of them, a truck suddenly pulled up to the side of the road. In a blink of an eye, a dozen of these workers ran towards it until ultimately, one of them was able to open the passenger door to the truck before anyone else, get in, and leave with the stranger driving the truck. Witnessing the tough competitive reality when looking for work and the incredible safety risk left me in shock. So much so that I could not bring myself to hold my camera up and capture the moment. Another missed photo that will forever live in my memory, and perhaps, that’s where it needed to make an impact the most. Thanks to @vlgarcia_ for the invitation.
