Metamorphosis is based on Goethe’s botanical studies in the book The Metamorphosis of Plants. In terms of Goethe’s contributions to literature, the project associates the poem, (Metamorphosis) with a design methodology associated with and identified as 'Poetic Fashion'. The romance of the subject is portrayed through the use of lace in menswear tailoring techniques. The project aims to challenge a level of gendered clothes beyond the boundaries of masculinity in poetic, romantic, and graceful menswear. Based on the master collection, designer Yicheng Fan puts forward to the Menswear label Fan Yicheng.
