We are delighted to announce the opening of “Infinite Scroll,” a group exhibition of work by Yvette Mayorga, David Salle, Devin Troy Strother, and Allison Zuckerman. The exhibition opens this Saturday, August 6. “Infinite Scroll” tracks the responses of these five artists spanning four decades to the oversaturation of the fast-paced image culture that is both a superficial constructor of community and a pernicious conduit for misinformation, stereotyping, and anxiety. These artists address the ubiquity of the image and it’s role in assigning social categories and meaning. Ultimately, the techniques of borrowing, appropriation, and sampling allow these artists to chaff at the commodification fueled by a culture fed on visual snippets and soundbite information.
