#ad “Home is Where the Honey Is” celebrates themes of perseverance, familial bonds, and community resilience amongst the people from, and in, my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The proverb 'home is where the heart is' means that, wherever you are and whoever you are with, your home and family have the deepest affection and emotional pull. During my childhood years my mother had a kitchen towel set that depicted a honey bear with a variation on this phrase, which inspired and shares the name of this project. For this project I documented the intimacy, vulnerability, and beauty that exists in the everyday lives of my family, loved ones, and wider community.
