The first time was right out of college when I started work as a financial advisor 💸 and was enraged in the fact that what I was learning isn’t taught in schools or to the general public. Basics of maxing out your 401k or saving upwards of 25% of your gross income was NEVER taught to me in school. Without the knowledge you don’t even have a chance. The second time was our health and food system 🍟 that’s misleading and is focused on profit 🤑 over prevention - often leading people to run themselves into the ground metabolically (and right into other serious health issues - even while “eating healthy”). Causing people to feel lethargic, hangry, achy, and more. Either keeping people under weight and starving or having them regain or gain more of the weight they are trying to keep off. AND last (but not least) my experience in postpartum. Not pregnancy. Pregnancy was fine. I was tired and had other adverse experiences that often come with pregnancy but nothing I couldn’t handle. I was supported. But after having my son! The healthcare system wasn’t equipped, our leave packages aren’t sufficient (even in companies that give you paid leave), our corporate structure isn’t a human first system, and many people’s community support is lacking (I hope yours isn’t). So many of those systems listed, you and I can’t control, (although I hope to influence where I can) but Nutrition is controllable and I can teach and lead you. We can determine what we put in our bodies and that’s what I will teach you here. What kinds of foods to focus on (there are a lot of them!), how much, and how you can take back control of your postpartum experience (through food).
