Erich Fromm - Art of Being. Feel like I didn't have enough time to summarise this but principle is the same. šā£

We need to be connected to experience not just tickbox our lives about what we want to have or what we feel we should try to own to get to somewhere. š

Too many of us have an experienced to say we had it. We did this, we did that, I owned this, I used to have that. But we aren't connecting to the experiences around us. Why is it we need to be in the Maldives to "have" headspace. There is so much power in being able to look at the world and moments in us and around us that are just as enriching as any experience. ā¤ļøā£

For us vets, why do we have to be a specialist to feel knowledgeable. Why do so many undergrads feel they need to be a walking resume to be useful, learned, erudite? ā£

Learning is a process and being is and should be an active engagement with around us. It's not a thing we can hold and "have". Crucially, those semantics help return us to what feels honest and real and tangible. ā¤ļø
