A huge thank you to my family, PWNT teammates, staff, PFF, and all our supporters💛 A lot went into this tournament, and for me, this campaign was especially memorable. Personally, a big test of faith came after I tested positive after our game vs Thailand. I had to isolate in my hotel room for 7 days. I was told I was going to miss our last 2 group matches. It was obviously hard that I couldn’t physically be there with my team and compete alongside them. I tried to gain perspective and be hopeful, but my mind always reverted back to “why am I in this position?” It was difficult to make sense of my situation. I continuously prayed and asked the Lord for some type of reasoning. In the end I had no choice but to trust God, His plan, and His timing. And boy, does He deliver. I was finally able to come out of isolation and join the team the day before our game vs Chinese Taipei. The following day, I was grateful enough to start and score for the team. We end up making history, we accomplish our goal of qualifying for the World Cup, and we fought till the very end in the semi-final! Every person involved with this team had their own challenges they were dealing with, and I’d say it makes this whole experience that much more special - If it were easy, we wouldn’t cherish it as much.
