One-of-a-kind by Caitlin Mociun: A 5.07 ct. emerald cut garnet (one for the books!), two spinels, and two champagne diamonds. Symbolically garnet is linked to pomegranate seeds, representing love in the confines of distance. The association is loosely based on Greek mythology in which Persephone was taken to the underworld by Hades. While there, she ate six pomegranate seeds and consequentially, she would have to stay in the underworld six months out of every year. During those months Persephone is separated from her mother Demeter, goddess of harvest, who loves her very much. Demeter’s sadness gives way to the dark and cold seasons of autumn and winter, while spring begins upon Persephone’s return.
