Comparing this abandoned original to the published version, it seems likely that Charles M. Schulz was unhappy with the crowded second line in the final panel: once reduced to newspaper print size, it could have been hard to read. For unknown reasons, Schulz changed the letter Sally draws from a “K” to a “G”; perhaps he deemed it funnier.
