I keep following my heart and it keeps leading me back to the airport. ✈️🇲🇽
Here are the DO’s & DON’T I learned from my recent trip to Tulum.
DO - Go to Azulik to spend the day. The cost to enter is covered with a minimum spend at the beach which includes a beach bed at no cost. + they walk you through the hotel so you can see everything the space has to offer.
DO - Book an excursion. I’d say Xcaret is the best deal, there is so much to do and see in one space. I personally prefer this set up so I don’t end up in a crowded bus rushing from location to location.
DO - Go to Tulum Bear Bar Area for the beach club day parties on Sunday. These are the best parties!
DO - Only book restaurants that you find on Google reviews that has over 4.5 stars. Don’t ask random people for their opinions, you will likely end up somewhere with decent ratings.
DON’T - Cenotes...tbh it’s a glorified underwater cave. There are a ton of people, its overcrowded. The water is dark & cold. & the photos always make it look WAY bigger than they actually are. The cenotes are also filled with 💩 due to the lac of plumbing in Tulum - Go watch the Vice doc.
DON’T - The Ruins, don’t go to the main ones. Go to Coba where you can actually walk up and take pics.
DON’T - Get in random taxis or try to bike anywhere really dark late at night. You will get robbed or hurt. Don’t play with it.
If I missed any Tulum tips/tricks just drop it in the comments. I really enjoyed and I think I’m going to go back to check out Playa Del Carmen next year.
