i finally get to share how excited i am that for the next year, i’ll be working with my mentor @tourmaliiine as a @queerart fellow. you can find her in the @metmuseum @themuseumofmodernart @brooklynmuseum and the @lacma and you can find her pretty much everywhere else. because there’s few places her wisdom hasn’t touched. she’s been shaping culture around abolition, pleasure, Blackness, love, and trans liberation for years as a filmmaker, historian, and organizer. so much of what we know about our trans ancestors is through her labor and commitment to preserving our lineage. she regularly time travels as someone who embodies the future today and dialogues with the past. thank you for choosing me @tourmaliiine. 💐 i’ve been trying to bring this pilot i’ve been working on to life. i feel so privileged to have her guidance. one day, you’ll be watching something that i wrote on TV. and when that day comes i’m screenshotting this post to show everyone that i knew what i was capable of, and that i didn’t do it alone. thank you @queerart for this opportunity and for cultivating queer and trans talent for so many years. 💙
