In the area that is currently and most commonly known as Mexico to those in the usa - was once an area that spread up towards the Canadian border. Just like the United States and Canada the area now known as Mexico has a rich and diverse Native American and indigenous population. Much of this population was separated by an imaginary border put in place after and during colonization. And we tend to forget especially when hearing certain politicians speaking about certain groups that these people are the original habitants and indigenous people to the land. They have a right to access their traditional and ancestral land and should not be punished for doing so. You have to remember that the immigrants this land is everyone who is not part of the indigenous population- which includes the major politicians that are currently in power. And while this only scratches the surface and gives basic information let it serve as a reminder that the Native American and indigenous people who are “south of the border” have had many great and amazing achievements in all different fields many of which people of the United States and Canada still use today. we will not forget indigenous people or Native American people just because they are not from the United States or Canada there are so many other native groups that are part of Central America the area now known as Mexico the islands and South America. #nativetiktok #nativeamerican #nativefamily
