“When I used to live in Hong Kong...” is a phrase, that anyone who knows me can tell you, I pre-fix many a statement, and generally an anecdote with. Like Uncle Albert’s “During the war...” it was a period of my life (1993-96) that has left an indelible mark and has instilled in me a deep love of S.E Asia, that has to be fed, literally, aurally, visually and when I can, geographically on a regular basis.
