New event in NYC on October 6! Join us at the James Howell Foundation for Re-enchanting the World, a special talk with Joanna Warsza, co-curator of the Polish pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale, in conversation with Ana Janevski (Curator of Media and Performance, MoMA). The two will discuss the Polish pavilion exhibition by artist MaΕgorzata Mirga-Tas, which represented the first project by a Roma artist to be shown in any national pavilion. Warsza and Janevski examine the themes of interdependence, transition, and cyclicality that informed both Mirga-Tasβs work and the curatorial process of bringing it to Venice. ποΈ RSVP at the link in bio!ββββββββ

Re-enchanting the World is a manifesto on Roma identity and culture that draws inspiration from the Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferraro, Italy to reinscribe a Roma perspective into art historical discourse. Through the patchwork tapestries that make up the exhibition, Mirga-Tas physically and metaphorically carries out the work of repair, the craft of narrative, and the hope of demythologizing stereotypical views while creating enchantment in the world.ββββββββ
