One year ago today I witnessed arguably the greatest moment in Serbian football history, against the odds in the 90th minute, the legendary Aleksandar Mitrović popped up at the back post to send Serbia to the World Cup....the dopamine levels that followed in my body surely exceeded the legal limit allowed by the universe...it was almost a hallucinogenic experience...what the hell just happened...in Cristiano Ronaldo’s back yard? In the middle of Lisbon? There weren’t many of us in that away stand...but for those few hundred that sat up in the heavens that night...the story of what we saw will be told to generations to come...hopefully this isn’t the end of those stories...the World Cup begins next week & one can only dream of such scenes to occur again, they may not for myself, or Serbia...but they surely will for millions who dare to dream that their wished storylines manifest for themselves and their countrymen...ahhh football....when it’s beautiful...it really is the best game in the world.
