I really love this play. A decade ago, @naatco_nyc commissioned the genius playwright Lloyd Suh to write it and in 2015, NAATCO produced the world premiere production at Walkerspace. I originated a few of the roles in that production and had the good fortune to reprise them for this virtual presentation produced by Paula Vogel's Bard at the Gate in partnership with @mccartertheatre, lovingly directed by Ralph Pena, Artistic Director of the renowned @mayitheater. Big shoutout to @vidco.tech for their expertise. • Speaking of Ma-Yi, there is a rare moment in theater history happening right now! NAATCO and Ma-Yi are both producing plays at the illustrious @publictheaterny next month: OUT OF TIME and THE CHINESE LADY. Kudos to the Public for partnering with both of these legendary Asian American theater companies. All in all, I'm deeply thankful for the AA theater community especially in these dark dizzying times.
