Tyler with the green hat @feliciathegoat has been a style icon ever since he first exploded into the public consciousness as a founding member of Odd Future back in the late 00s. While his look has evolved from skate rat to preppy chic, one part of his wardrobe has remained a constant: the cap. From that Supreme 5 panel worn in “Yonkers”, to the custom fitted’s seen on his album covers and the countless variations released under Golfwang, Tyler rarely goes anywhere without wearing one. With each era, Tyler has favoured specific colours and brands for headwear, however fans have picked up on his affinity for caps that are green. Tyler first acknowledged his love for them on his 2011 mixtape “Bastard” where he raps “I wear a green hat because I'm unfortunately lucky,” on the song “Bastard” and then again on “Session” where he opens the song with “I'm Tyler, Mr. Green Hat, pro-abortion anti-clean rap.” Shout outs pop up again on WOLF where he breaks down his signature style on “Cowboy” saying “Green hat, Vans, Golf top is the team uniform.” He also mentions it a freestyle from an AWGE tape. Even friend and collaborator A$AP Rocky knows how much he loves them, screaming “They ain't ready for Tyler with the green hat!” on the opening of “WTF Right Now.” So why green? Tyler has frequently stated that green is his favourite colour. He confirmed it in “Where This Flower Blooms” and again in LEMONHEAD. Although he “likes the colour green (in every shade)” there is one that stands out above the rest. According to a 2019 interview with WSJ that specific hue is “Kelly Green”
