So much of our experience with cycling is tied to our relationship to place. It’s those hours spent emptying ourselves in stunning landscapes that help life make sense. It’s those hours that make us all witnesses to the change those landscapes go through, which has ever increasingly been exacerbated by natural disaster under a shifting climate. Much of my trail work is related to wildfire restoration, much of my racing is based on the conservation ideals of those who came before me, I’d be remiss not to be able to look back and know I did something to drive systemic change for a better world. @protectourwinters #powbike launches today. It’s a pathway for anyone to do exactly the same thing I do. It’s a resource of voting guides, assistance registering to vote, and written pièces making sense of the science and political mire. There are intersectional aspects that do not make voting easy for everyone. There are small things like phone banking and helping your friends make a plan to vote that can drive a countries future. In Maslows hierarchy of needs, climate spans the entire pyramid, as it disproportionately impacts minorities and economically disadvantaged communities, it prevents the opportunity for the basic necessities in life. Take a peak at POW, and if you feel like it empowers you to make change, join us. We’re also part of a democracy - let us know what would make it better serve your community. Cheers to a better world ❄️
