Meet Madison, Student Changemaker at @generationcitizen. Madison is a UC Davis student, studying environmental science. Madison’s activism — focusing on climate change, environmental issues, racism and systems of injustice — was inspired by her mom, who also works in the climate change space. Madison’s interest in her mom’s work began when she was in middle school and continued through high school, where she was introduced to green living, climate change and sustainability. It was through her mom and teacher, Ms. Ziegler, she learned strength in activism and the ability to be open to building awareness.
What’s her advice for those just starting their own activism journeys? “There are so many ways to be an activist! You don’t have to be the loudest in the room. Take the time to understand how you fit in. There is no wrong way of engaging in the issues you are passionate about.” Learn more about the civic power of young Change Makers like Madison over at @generationcitizen!
